Patrick John (PJ) Condon
In 1892 Patrick John (PJ) Condon immigrated from Ireland and settled in Harrison, NJ. In 1897 he was graduated from mortuary school in NYC and opened a store front funeral parlor in Harrison. As his family grew so did the family business and he sent three sons on to become undertakers.
Raymond, Sr. and his wife Alice Brenner Condon opened the Kearny funeral home in 1929 in a residential home given to Alice and Ray by her parents as a wedding gift. After Raymond's death in the late 1930's Alice continued the business until her son received his funeral directors license in the 1950s.
Raymond E. Condon, Jr.
Raymond E. Condon continued the family tradition as an active member of the community. He was a well known civic leader in Kearny where he married and raised a family until his untimely death in 1979 at the age of 48.
Barbara Ann Condon, Manager
After Raymond's death in 1979 the business passed to his daughter and PJ's great granddaughter, Barbara Ann Condon the current owner and operator.
