Allan Palmer 73, of Platte City, MO formerly of Harrison NJ passed away on April 9, 2021
A memorial gathering, with military honors, will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 4-6pm.
He was born to Walter Raymond Palmer Sr. and his wife Grace Palmer in Kearny New Jersey. Allan grew up in Harrison NJ where he graduated from Harrison High School in 1968.
Allan served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. This is where he also trained and graduated from the Military Police School, Sentry Dog Training and External Securities School. He served two tours and earned the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1972 and continued a career in law enforcement with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department as a Detective in the Fugitive Bureau until 1979.
Allan then became a licensed insurance broker for the state of New Jersey. He then worked for Wells Fargo in the Armored Car Division.
In 1985 he went to work for ADT/TYCO for the next 25 years and he retired in 2011 in the facilities department.
On May 5, 1991 he married the love of his life Florence Rheiner. They both worked for ADT/TYCO and relocated with the company to Royal Palm Beach, Fl, then to Norcross, GA and settled in Platte City, MO where they lived for 17 years. They also had a furbaby Valentine that was the apple of their eyes. They laid her to rest on November 15, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Busto and brother, Walter Palmer.
Allan loved to fish, hunt and travel with his friends and family and was the life of the party!
Allan is survived by his wife Florence, sister, Virginia Kwicinski, brother, Ronald Palmer and several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
