Anthony, J. Antonaccio Jr. passed away on January 9, 2020, resident of Winnabow, NC. He was born and raised in Harrison, NJ, and graduated from Harrison High School in 1948. He worked for Worthington Corporation where he met the love of his life Eleanor. Anthony (as she always referred to him) retired in 1994 from Worthington (then called Ingersoll) as Manager of MIS (North America) after a 46 year career having started there when he was 17.
Anthony/”Dad”/ “Papa” was one of three sons born to Antonio and Carmela (Comprelli) Antonaccio and was the devoted, loving husband of the late Eleanor G. (Stefanowicz) Antonaccio for over 55 years. They were married on February 14, 1953 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Harrison, NJ. He was preceeded in death by his older brother Mario and will forever be remembered by his younger brother Leonard “Lenny,” beloved sons Tony, Steve and Jeff (wife Robyn), treasured grandchildren Anthony, Daniel, Cara, Gianni, Brianna and Joseph, along with countless other family members and friends who were blessed to have known him.
Anthony/ “Dad”/ “Papa” loved working on his iPad and computer, talking via Skype with his many friends around the country, enjoying homemade Italian food (especially Eggplant Parmagiana) and listening to music, with a special fondness for Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Hall and Oates, the Eagles and Journey (all of whom he was fortunate enough to see live in concert). But it was his “famiglia” that was most important to him. And although often claiming to be the only talentless Antonaccio, he regularly created heartfelt “Created Especially for You by Papa” birthday, holiday and anniversary cards for friends and family using his computer. His love, smile, laughter, generosity and positive thinking touched the lives of so many.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life Friday, January 17, 2020 from 6-10 PM in the Condon Funeral Home 684 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ, and at his Funeral Mass 11am Saturday, January 18th in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 237 Jersey Street, Harrison, NJ. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, No. Arlington.
The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). There are simply no words to describe how fondly remembered dearly missed Anthony/ “Dad”/ “Papa” will be by those who knew and loved him.
