Gilberto A. Toro passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday from 3-8pm at the Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 9am at the funeral home followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Church, Kearny, NJ.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.
Gilberto was a loving husband to Carmen Morel for years, devoted father to Delmira, Elvis, Iris, Damicela, Ismelda, Roberto, Giovanni, Luis Antonio, grandfather to Gianna, Ian, Marx, Sherlley, Leah, Dylan, Derek, Yohan, Chadd, Josh, Eliesther, Samantha, Abel, Shanel, Celyn, Abel, Ely Samuel, Anesys, Samantha, Kevin, Lizbeth, great grandfather to Samira, Marquelis, Isabella, Marx Olivier and Zhara, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend.
Gilberto was born on June 1, 1944 to Ana Mercedes (predeceased) and Rafael Emilio (predeceased) in Ranchete, Dominican Republic. One of five children: Juan (predeceased), Rafaela, Marino, Manuel, and half-siblings Manuel Velez, Gisela (predeceased), Rafito, Australia, La Negra and Orlanda.
Gilberto was a Longshoremen at Maher Terminals for 37 years. Prior to that, his career and passion, work ethic and desire to provide his family brought him to Puerto Rico and Miami. He loved to make his family happy, be with his family, vacation with them, roast pigs, grow, eat and share avocados with friends and family, drink whiskey and spend time in his native land, the Dominican Republic.
In 2013, the LORD found him and started his process of Salvation, today Gilberto is in His Presence rejoicing.
