Mrs. Janis M. Boggiano, a long time Kearny resident, died peacefully at home with her daughter at her side. She was 75.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8pm.
Born in Haskell, NJ, Janis has lived in Kearny for most of her life. She was a registered nurse and retired as school nurse from Marist High School in Bayonne. Prior to that she had worked as a visiting nurse for Hudson County and as the Town Nurse in Lyndhurst. Earlier she worked in St. Joseph's in Paterson and at West Hudson Hospital in Kearny. She received her RN from St. Joseph's School of Nursing.
Mrs. Boggiano was predeceased by her husband, Joseph (2018) and is survived by her daughters, Theresa and Cindy Boggiano; her siblings, Mary Bonney (Thomas) and Joseph Allogio (Elizabeth). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Robert and Kayleigh Mullens as well has her fur babies, Piglet and Rex.
